Poco Kate Kelly, October 2010 (2 weeks old) |
Kate came to us in 2003, when she was 14 years old and in foal to Eskdale West Alabama Lou. A few weeks later she foaled us a bay filly named "Spins Kate Kelly". Kate herself was never performed and was bred from a very early age. She was first put in foal as a 3 yo, soon after her sister, 49er Kate, was co-champion of the 1990 NCHA Futurity. We put Kate in foal to Acres Destiny*, and that choice of sire was rewarded only 8 months later when her 2000 foal by Acres Destiny* (Acres Of Class) placed 4rth at the NCHA Non-Pro Futurity, and finalled in the same event a few weeks later at the Toowoomba Futurity.
In October 2004 she foaled a black filly, which we named "Acres Kate Kelly". Sadly we had to sell "Bubba", who went to William and Tracy Tapp from Rockhampton QLD. She was one of the top-priced led horses at the NCHA Select Sale. Unfortunatly William Tapp informed us that "Bubba" got injured and will not be performed. She has had a foal by Freckles 49er.
Kate was left empty the following season. In October 2005 we bred her to "Acres Showdown" a brown/black tobiano colt by Acres Destiny*. On the first of September 2006 she gave us a brown tobiano filly, to be retained. In September 2007 she gave birth to a beautiful blue roan colt by our stallion Poco Blue Moon. In September 2009 she foaled a lovely black colt. Katehgas been re-bred to Poco Blue Moon.
